Hopping Frogs Room (20 months-3 years)
Our staff have a wealth of knowledge of the birth to five curriculum leading through to primary education. We know that children develop and learn in different ways and we are committed to ensuring that we enrich your child’s learning and development starting from their current level of understanding and building upon this. We believe strongly in a child centred approach and always put the children at the heart of what we do.
Healthy Learning environment
Our Hopping Frogs Room is situated on the ground floor. It is open plan, with an area specifically for the younger Hopping Frogs between the ages of 20-24 months. Both areas of the room provide lots of different areas of learning to help support development and learning. Lots of opportunities are provided for all children, to help with enhancement in prime areas including Personal, Social and Emotional skills, Communication and language skills and Physical development. We pride ourselves on the range of resources and prospects for learning we offer, through messy and sensory play leading up to more set activities towards the age of 3, including maths and literacy tasks to develop these skills. We also endeavour to send out termly newsletters to parents.
The room has direct access to a back play-area with numerous activities and sports on offer. We also have direct access to the park from the back area (this is locked at all times unless in use). With our location, we are lucky enough to live by a number of farms and shops and these are sometimes destinations on any outings/walks we go on. We aim to arrange at least one trip out per term with use of our mini-bus. Trips we have been on previously include; to see pantomimes at the theatre, to the garden centre to purchase planting materials to sow in the front area, to greenhead park and to the farm shop next door for breakfast.
In the Hopping Frogs room, we follow the Early Years Foundation stage, which is evident in your child’s online learning journey with lots of different observations and records of achievement. This new online system also gives you the opportunity to do your own observations at home to add into your child’s learning journey.
